T-Mobile expands its iPhone-friendly HSPA+ service to 10 new markets

While other carriers like Verizon and AT&T roll out their LTE service, T-Mobile is expanding its HSPA+ network to include the iPhone-friendly 1900 MHz band. The areas with the expanded 1900 MHz coverage include:

Central and Southern Arizona
• Phoenix, including Tempe, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, Paradise Valley, Surprise and Ahwatukee
• Mesa, including Chandler and Gilbert
• Tucson, including South Tucson, Marana, and Vail

San Francisco Bay Area
• Silicon Valley, including Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, San Jose
• Oakland
• San Francisco

Central Valley, California
• Stockton
• Modesto

South Florida
• Miami, including Coral Gables and Miami Beach
• Fort Lauderdale, including Hollywood

In these areas, customers with an unlocked phone from AT&T can access T-Mobile’s speedy 4G HSPA+ network. T-Mobile originally launched the 1900MHz service in Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas and Washington D.C. The carrier now offers HSPA+ on the 1900MHz band in 15 metropolitan areas and expects to launch the service in several other cities by the end of the year.
