The Sharp Aquos SH930W, which has already been unveiled in Russia, will also be announced for Hong Kong. The Japanese company said that its 1080p Android smartphone will cost 4,488 HKD (around $580) and will ship with Jelly Bean out of box. The price is much lower than what Russians are forced to pay (21,990 RUB – $712), which is kinda awkward.

Anyway, aside from that big 5-inch full HD screen, Sharp’s baby also rocks Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing one and 32GB of built-in storage. Unsurprisingly, the company is pitching that awesome screen as SH930W’s key selling point comparing it with screens found on the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note II and HTC One X+. Still, I’m not sure why Sharp hasn’t opted for a quad-core processor which would make everything run faster, promptly delivering all those pixels. Guess some cost cutting was needed, though I don’t think they’ve selected the “right thing” to save money on…
