Kia, a Korean car manufacturer, is looking to breathe some life back into its UVO eServices telematics, as it plans to join forces with Google to offer its latest navigation system. The updated setup will bring a totally different feel to earlier versions such as allow users to send directions and locales from their smartphone (or the web) to their car. In addition, the interface stands to bring in more goodies like the integration of Google Places that’ll go with UVO’s native music management, hands-free features and improved voice recognition.

Potential customers can expect the new system to debut inside of the company’s upcoming Sorento CUV, which is slated to hit sometime in the first quarter of 2013.
