IOGEAR unveiled its Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV at CES, making it one of the first devices to enable wireless streaming from a smartphone, tablet or laptop to the TV. The company was the first to bring to market wireless streaming from a laptop or PC to a TV in 2008, and this new device “builds on that innovative leadership.”

The Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV, which will be available for $79.95, can stream videos, photos, music and web content from a mobile device to an HDTV up to 30 feet away. The great news is that it supports both Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) and Miracast, allowing you to use your existing gadgets (I have a Netgear Push2TV WiDi adapter) while also making your brand-new TV ready to join the part. Moreover, it can also work with both iOS and Android platforms, and there’s also an option to stream select online content (including Vimeo, Facebook, Picasa and YouTube) by downloading the free iMediaShare app to the smartphone or tablet.

The Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV will be available online at IOGEAR’s website and through major distribution channels in spring 2013.
