U.S. Bank is launching a neat package to make contactless payments possible for its iPhone-owning clients. Starting with FlexPerks Visa customers in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Portland, Oregon – the bank is rolling out a new mobile payment service called U.S. Bank Go Mobile, allowing folks with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S to pay their bills with a wave of their beloved smartphone.

Still in Beta, the service is at the moment limited to FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature account holders before it’s being introduced more broadly later in the year when iPhone 5 owners may also be able to join the party.

Under the scheme, customers who qualify and opt-in for the service will receive a special iPhone case along with their new card. The mentioned case is NFC-enabled to make contactless payments possible at thousands of participating retailers that accept Visa payWave. In addition, the case also comes with a battery of its own to extend the phone’s charge time by more than 50%. Pretty cool and I’m sure iPhone users who also happen to be U.S. Bank customers will appreciate the capability…
