LG is bullish on its prospects for this year and their plans include selling no less than 75 million handsets, up from 55 million in 2012. Of that number, the Korean company hopes that 45 million will be smartphones, though not all of them will run Android. LG is apparently looking forward to get back to the Windows Phone game with a new product launched later in the year.

And while there’s nothing wrong per se with LG’s plan, their figures are nonetheless a pocket change compared to Samsung’s “global domination” plans which include moving half a billion mobile devices this year, a majority of which (300 million) will be smartphones. Still we gotta give it to LG for getting back to the profitability path. Now it’s all about walking the fine line of staying afloat and eventually even growing market share. We’re sure LG has what it takes to emerge as one of the leading players even though the market is more competitive than ever…
