RIM drops App from BlackBerry App World, adds video and music

Ahead of its big BlackBerry 10 launch, RIM has rebranded its BlackBerry App World store to BlackBerry World. The loss of the term “App” in the name reflects an underlying change to the store, as it soon will be home to apps, videos and music. RIM claims the store will be “the one-stop shop for all of your mobile entertainment needs.”

RIM will first update its online storefront and then gradually roll out the update to its BlackBerry smartphones and its PlayBook tablets.
