If Huawei can have its phablet device (Ascend Mate), so can ZTE. The Chinese company has been showing off its still not officially announced Grand Memo device at an event in Hong Kong. The giant phone has a 5.7-inch 720p screen and will most likely be launched from the floor of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Aside from the mentioned big screen, the 8mm-thick Grand Memo will also boast Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera, while Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will run the show right from the get-go.
According to Engadget folks who managed to play with the prototype unit, ZTE’s phablet doesn’t feel as solid as Grand S, which is described as a more premium device (it has a full HD screen, after all). We’ll make sure to spend some time with the Grand Memo while in Spain and get back to you with more details. Stay tuned in the meantime…
