The once famous media player maker iriver is joining the “tablet revolution,” starting with its own backyard. Their newly unveiled, WOWtab is a 7-inch device with 1280×800 pixels display and NVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor. In addition, it also packs 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB of built-in storage and so much needed microSD memory card slot (which Nexus 7 lacks).

When it comes to availability, iriver will start selling its baby in the next couple of days starting with South Korea. The price is set at 248,000 KRW, the amount that translates into roughly $230. As I’m writing this, we don’t know whether the company plans to bring WOWtab to other parts of the world. We do hope to see more competition that will undoubtedly push the prices down. In the meantime, you can check out the device’s page at iriver’s website.

I used to love their MP3 players. However, I’m not at all excited with this tablet…

Titled as Tegra “4″ CPU, but story stated Tegra “3″ CPU.

The truth? Tegra 3 similar spec as Nexus 7. >.>
