Another cool device ASUS unveiled at Computex is the Fonepad Note FHD 6, which is like the original Fonepad’s younger brother that has a slightly smaller screen (6 inches), while adding stylus to the mix. That screen supports full HD (1920×1080 pixels) resolution, while the rest of the FHD 6’s specs include Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom Z2560 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front-facing one, HSPA+ and Wi-Fi connectivity. The lack of LTE suggests the Fonepad Note FHD 6 in its current form won’t be available in the U.S. with Europeans first getting it (though it’s unclear when).
Price is also a mystery but I’m sure we’ll get that and other details shortly. If ASUS doesn’t ask too much of a premium for this Fonepad model, it could easily move a few million units. Phablet devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note series and LG Optimus G Pro are getting more popular with the day and we can see a slightly smaller Fonepad succeeding in the market if doesn’t end up breaking a bank. More details as we get ’em…
