LG has recently filed an innovative stylus patent with the USPTO, describing it as a flexible capacitive stylus that can be worn on your arm like a watch. In fact, it does have some functionalities of a smart watch, for instance allowing users to control the music playback from their wrist. It’s unclear, however, whether this will be a whole new product — let’s call it a smart stylus — or could be a design of the next LG Life Band.
We like it either way. The idea to make flexible stylus is a sound one, since “regular” stylus is something many easily lose. In addition, by also showing some useful information (like current time), this device effectively doubles its usability.
Unfortunately, we’ve no idea when LG will launch it. As far as we (don’t) know, they may opt to leave it for some other time. We would love to see something like this announced alongside the LG G Pro 2 which could use a dedicated stylus for some drawing apps. That huge screen seems perfect for those sort of things. What do you think?
