Xiaomi has started executing on its expansion plans, beginning with Singapore. Folks living in this island country in Southeast Asia can now get the Xiaomi Redmi for S$169, which translates into some US$134.
Although it’s announced last year, the Hongmi/Redmi still offers great bang for the buck, packing a 4.7-inch 720p HD screen, 1GB of RAM, MediaTek’s MT6589T quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, and an 8-megapixel camera on the back.
Now that Singapore is “cleared,” we’re hoping to learn that Xiaomi will soon be expanding to other markets all around the world. We’ll be looking at “every step they make” and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned in the meantime…
