Samsung is betting placing a bet on the frustration of Symbian developers disagreeing with Nokia’s decision to embrace Windows Phone 7. Hence they’ve sent an email to a group of India-based mobile developers who showed up at Sammy’s recent developer conference in the country. Here’s what it [email] says:
If you are a Symbian developer unhappy about Nokia’s recent announcements, and are hence looking for a new platform to showcase your talents, we say “Hello!” and “Welcome to bada!” If you’re new to the bada development, or are moving your app from Symbian, we’d like to welcome you with the ‘Quick guide to bada development’. In about 15 minutes, you can learn how to build your first bada app!
Neat strategy, but will it work? I’m in the group of people who doubt the prospects of Samsung’s home-made platform. As a matter of fact, I think Samsung itself is not that confident on bada’s future since they also support Android and Windows Phone 7… What do you think?
