Motorola came to the Moscone Center to show off their latest wares at CTIA San Francisco 2008. We have to hand it to Motorola for their booth presence.

Standing proudly amidst smaller, less impressive booths, Motorola had their well-designed and commanding booth displaying all their most impressive handsets. Unfortunately, Motorola didn’t have any new products to show off – no Alexander here, folks.

The stand-out handset at the Motorola booth was the Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5. As I mentioned in our video coverage of the Moto ZN5, the latest cameraphone from Motorola rocks a 5 megapixel camera with a bright Xenon flash. The Motorola ZN5 snaps pics without hesitation, unlike certain other high-end cameraphones from other manufacturers. The lack of any shutter lag is a refreshing departure from the click-to-pic delay that we’ve come to expect from cameraphones.

The Mode Shift keypad reconfigures itself to make it easy to use the Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5’s media features. A nice touch to be sure, but not a deal-maker by any means. The lack of 3G is a sad oversight on Motorola’s part and could keep the ZN5 from making any serious in-roads in many developed markets.
