Some new plans for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices were introduced on Bell Wireless recently, boasting “25% more minutes than competitor smartphone plans”, available until the end of December.

Smartphone Combo 45

Unlimited evening and weekends
Choice of:

  • unlimited incoming calls
  • nationwide Fab Five for unlimited calling and texting with five favourite contacts across the country
  • extended evening clock for unlimited local calling starting at 5pm

Smartphone Combo 70
500 minutes of anytime local calling
Unlimited evening and weekends
Unlimited personal email, Instant Messenger, Internet surfing and text messaging

Smartphone Combo 100
1,250 minutes of anytime local calling
unlimited evening and weekends
unlimited personal email, Instant Messenger, Internet surfing and text messaging call display and message centre express voicemail.

In just about the same breath, Bell cut 250 employees, with shifty promises of trying to find them other work within Bell if they leave without a fuss. Although it’s never great news, other wireless companies have been hit considerably harder by the economic crisis.  If you’re a customer (or maybe a soon-to-be subscriber once the BlackBerry Storm comes out), you can check out more details on Bell’s plans right over here.
