Right on the heels of their i9 announcement, Motorola has announced a successful LTE call and high-speed data transmission in their lab at Swindon, in Wiltshire, UK. The test was using standards compliant LTE on 2.6 GHz with a prototype device we may very well see at Mobile World Congress in two weeks. Samsung, LG, and maybe even RIM are also sniffing around the possibility of an LTE handset, but as ever, meeting the infrastructure prerequisites rests in the carriers’ hands. MWC is bound to have some interesting news on this front, that’s for sure.
