Sony Ericsson officially outs W395, C903, new car speakerphone

Sony Ericsson is out with three new products – W395 Walkman, C903 Cyber-shot phones and AB900 car speakerphone. Let’s briefly go through each one of the devices announced:

  • First comes the W393 which we knew is coming. Codenamed “Yao,” this low-to-mid-range Walkman phone is designed for youth. Specs wise, we find 2 megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom, Walkman player, stereo speakers, stereo Bluetooth support, 2-inch 176×220 pixels screen, and EDGE data. The device will be available later in this quarter in “Dusky Grey” and “Blush Titanium.”
  • Then there’s C903 aka Frances, which we also saw earlier. The Cyber-shot handset boasts a 5 megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, auto-focus and an array of camera-specific technologies such as Photo fix, Smile Shutter, Face detection, BestPic, Image and Video stabilizer. Rest of the specs include HSDPA support (3G), aGPS, 2.4-inch QVGA display, stereo Bluetooth, media player, auto-rotate functionality. It should hit “select markets” in Q2 2009, when interested buyers will be able to grab it in “Laquer Black,” “Techno White” or “Glamour Red.”
  • Finally, the Swedish-Japanese handset maker also unveiled a new accessory – Bluetooth-enabled AB900 speakerphone. It’s not just a regular speakerphone, but also an FM transmitter that allows you to stream music from a mobile phone to car’s speakers. So when you receive a call, music stops and you can respond safely. The AB900 can work for up to 1,000 hours in standby mode, 26 hours as a speakerphone, or up to 18 hours for streaming music.

Final note – the fact that Sony Ericsson announced these three devices before Mobile World Congress leave us wondering what are their plans for the big event in Barcelona. Guess Hikaru will be on the show then, but what else? Anyone dares to guess?
