Cricket MyPerks

Cricket Communications has recently launch the new Cricket MyPerks – a free, opt-in service that pushes “informational and entertaining content” along with valued offers directly to the home screen of customers’ mobile devices.

From the official release:

Cricket MyPerks makes it easy for customers to find popular content and realize great savings using their mobile phone. Users receive free content, ranging from weather and gas prices, to trivia and celebrity gossip, along with occasional offers from recognized national and local brands including big-box retailers, restaurants, sporting events, concert venues, automotive services, and more. Brands that have recently or are currently providing content offers include Jack in the Box, 1-800-Flowers, ESPN, Walmart, Dairy Queen, Qdoba, Progressive Insurance and Jiffy Lube. Content and offers are tailored by location, and soon, user preferences, in order to provide customers with the most relevant programming.

In order to give MyPerks a try, you’ll have to download a dedicated application, first. You can do that through Cricket’s Games and Apps catalog on select Motorola, Samsung, and UTStarcom handsets. Afterwards, content and special offers will be automatically delivered to the idle screen of your phone, when it’s not in use. Kinda neat, and it seems Cricket expects to see a bunch of users jumping on the service, hence they’ve prepared a special website just to promote it…
