Part-time world leaders take note, 2K Games has officially announced today the availability of Civilization for the iPhone / iPod Touch.  In Civilization for the iPhone, you can take charge of one of 16 playable civilizations while using intuitive game mechanics tailor-made for the iPhone platform.

Civilization comes in two flavors: Lite and the full retail version.  The Lite version offers three playable civilizations and allows players to advance to the modern era, while the full version obviously completely unlocks the game.  For the next 48 hours, Civilization is going to be on sale for $4.99, before it’s raised to it’s regular price of $9.99.  If you loved Civilization games, I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to jump on the sale bandwagon as saving $5 is always a good thing!
