Fellas, if you’re in the doghouse, you can now order flowers via your Android phone. Handy. 1-800-flowers.com have announced a downloadable storefront app for Android. The new app is based on Digby’s Mobile Commerce Suite Platform, and brings access to many of the products you’ll find on the main website.

When asked to comment on the new app, Dave Sikora, CEO of Digby noted:

1-800-FLOWERS.COM is an innovator in cross-channel retail and customer-focused technology, and we are pleased to once again have the opportunity to be a part of their vision to provide their customers the best mobile shopping experience possible.  We are excited to expand our mobile offerings and help retailers stay abreast of today’s rapidly changing consumer habits through the incorporation of the Android platform.

Tight integration with native Android apps is apparently built-in, allowing users of the app to select names and addresses from either their online account, or device memory…. And, of course, orders can be placed directly from the app itself, a feature that may allow men across the country to escape from the doghouse… no matter where they happen to be.
