It was just the other day we heard rumblings regarding the Palm Pixi launch date. Rumor had it the Pixi would join us in the mobile world on October 20th. A date that seemed so tasty, mostly because it’s not that far away. For some reason I thought the date seemed a little premature… don’t ask me why, but I did. Today, my intuition might have proven correct.

Today, Engadget is claiming their sources ‘definitely have a better perspective on the this phone’s launch, and the word is that the aforementioned date is not accurate‘. So much for the initial rumor set forth by BGR.

As a quick refresher, here are some key specs on the Palm Pixi:

  • 2.63-inch multi-touch screen, 18-bit color, 320×400 resolution
  • GPS
  • 2 megapixel fixed focus camera
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • 8 GB of storage built in
  • Qualcomm MSM7627 chipset
  • 55 mm x 111 mm x 10.85 mm; 99.5 grams

Whether the Pixi hits us on the 20th or not, one thing is almost certain; we should have it in our hands in plenty of time for the holidays. Let the launch date and pricing rumors carry on…
