Verizon to ask $99 for the Droid Eris?

Droid Eris

Good news for Android fans looking for a bargain. It seems that Verizon will ask hundred bucks for the Droid Eris with a contract. As far as we know, the HTC-made smartphone will be launched on the same day as the Moto Droid and the carrier obviously needs to differentiate the offering. If they would price both devices the same amount, the choice would be obvious – get the QWERTY keyboard equipped Motorola.

Now we’re thinking how will this impact Sprint’s $180 Hero offering? Yap, they’ll need to cut prices immediately. Don’t you just love when consumers win? 😉
