File this one under strange and unusual. We received a note earlier today that the California Strawberry Commission (aka, the CSC 😛 ) has launched a new app for the iPhone, appropriately titled ‘Strawberries’.

The app offers a collection of 50 recipes featuring, you guessed it, strawberries. Recipes included come from some of the most popular culinary bloggers and chefs worldwide.

Key features of the app include:

  • More than 50 recipes, categorized by dish type.
  • Access your favorite recipes – and shopping lists – in the kitchen, at the store, or anywhere!
  • Share recipes on Twitter, Facebook and email.
  • Discover and link to the food bloggers and chefs behind the recipes.

‘Strawberries is a free app, and you can pick up your copy right here (iTunes link). So get your chef’s hat on, and get ready to whip up some delicious Strawberry Shortcake, courtesy of the California Strawberry Commission.

Note: For more, you can become a fan of California Strawberries on Facebook, or follow @CAstrawberries for more recipes, tips, photos, giveaways and more!
