JAGTAG

2D barcode company JAGTAG had a major announcement – it now works instantly on every camera phone in the United States. In other words, all major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Alltel and last two included on the list – T-Mobile and Sprint) are supporting the service, representing 87% of mobile users. Best of all, this all works without requiring users to download any third-part 2D barcode-reading app!

For marketers this means they could deliver optimized multimedia content to millions of people across the U.S. without fearing they [users] don’t have the right application installed, though some decent phone (not exclusively smartphone) is required.

JAGTAG’s press release ends with bragging they are the only 2D barcode company capable of engaging consumers via short code, email or Twitter. The company has recently powered campaigns for such companies as NBC Universal, Sports Illustrated, Dell, Toyota, and Yahoo!.
