MyTouch Slide coming to RadioShack?

The MyTouch Slide is the obvious follow-up to the MyTouch 3G (or G1, depending on how you look at it), offering a full slide out QWERTY keyboard, and running the Android OS. It looks like the device was leaked from RadioShack’s Direct2U system, and hopefully this means that we may be seeing the device in the near future. Unfortunately, the badly named MyTouch brand lives on as T-Mobile’s flagship Android brand.

The MyTouch Slide is rumored to carry HTC’s Sense UI, which will be a nice addition to the stock Android that the G1, and MyTouch 3G currently offer. While other devices – like the Behold 2 and Motorola CLIQ, and more recently the CLIQ XT – have their own custom UI’s, none are a slick as HTC’s Sense, and the MyTouch Slide would be the first device to feature it on T-Mobile. The only other HTC Sense bearing devices available in the US are the HTC Hero for Sprint, and the Droid Eris for Verizon Wireless.

Previously, we knew the MyTouch Slide as Espresso. We’ve known about this device for some time now, and have had very little information on it. Well, we still don’t have much information on it, but with this recent picture popping up in RadioShack’s system, the wait for this much-needed follow-up may be coming to a close. The Slide is pretty much just another Android device with a keyboard, as it seems that most of the internal seems to stay the same.

There’s reason to believe that the Slide will be much like its MyTouch 3G predecessor. It will probably use the older 528Mhz processor that is found in the G1 and current MyTouch 3G, but I hope that’s wrong. Let’s just hope the previous pictures we’ve seen of it are not final hardware, and that by adding the full QWERTY keyboard the Slide doesn’t lose what little sleekness the original MyTouch.
