Nokia’s too late: Google acquires Jaiku

I always thought Nokia will be the one to acquire Jaiku. After all, it is one of the most popular Symbian S60 apps today. Not to mention that like Nokia, Jaiku is also based in Finland (if that actually counts). I guess I was either wrong, or the Finish giant came to late…

Google acquires Jaiku

Now, we have Google acquiring the popular “activity stream and presence sharing service that works from the Web and mobile phones.” Apparently, this is the area where Google can add a lot of value for users… and bundle some ads on top of it, I might add. In addition, I could easily envision Google jumping in the whole micro-blogging craze…

Anyway, Jaiku team has prepared the short FAQ for current users regarding acquisitions, and they will continue to provide support for their users on the #jaiku channel… Check out the official post on Jaiku’s blog.
