While not that many U.S. carriers are selling Sony Ericsson smartphones, the company is going for the folks who want their devices unlocked and who don’t want to sign contracts with mobile operators. That said, one Sony Ericsson smartphone, Xperia active, has found its way to Newegg, which is selling the SIM-free version for $369.99. Yeah I know that sounds kinda steep, but as I said – you don’t have to sign a two-year contract with the purchase.

Those who don’t know what this particular handset is all about should know it’s made for people with an active lifestyle. The Xperia active is a water resistant and dust proof Android smartphone that incorporates wet finger tracking to ensure everything works perfectly, even under the toughest conditions. For instance, you can keep the Xperia active less than three feet of water for up to 30 minutes!

In addition, the device also comes with personal trainer apps pre-installed, allowing you to easily track your workouts and fitness level to help you reach your goals. It sports a built-in GPS, barometer and compass, and can additionally be connected to an external ANT+ heart-rate monitor to give you the stats after every exercise.

The question at the end is – are you willing to pay 370 bucks for all the benefits? In any case you can check out the phone at Newegg’s website.
