Not exactly the pure Symbian topic, but somehow related. In a recent interview Jeanne Kolesnik from Epocware shared advice for Symbian developers on how to create a successful mobile applications people want to buy.

On the similar subject, Pocket Gamer site managing director, shares some guidelines that could help mobile developers everywhere make better games.

Top 10 tips:

  1. Immediately familiar or understandable objectives
  2. Intuitive controls
  3. Simple gameplay dynamic – deliver one idea brilliantly
  4. Immediate achievement – A reward within the first thirty seconds…
  5. …but a challenge that increases steadily
  6. Create a record of progress and awards
  7. Basic Multiplayer options
  8. A little bit of madness or a sense of humor
  9. Attractive 2D visuals (why worry about 3D?)
  10. Pay attention to the incidental details
