AIR FRANCE and KLM have recently announced an expansion of their electronic boarding pass service, allowing passengers to get boarding passes on their mobile devices.
From the official release:
Following a six-month test on the Paris-Amsterdam-Paris route and after a first launch on some French destinations last month (‘La Navette’ flights), the service is now ready for gradual roll-out throughout Europe. It can be used on flights from Paris and Amsterdam to most European destinations other than the UK.
Passengers can check-in using their PDA or smartphone, and receive their boarding pass by email or as an MMS or SMS. As a result, the need for printing the boarding pass has been eliminated!
In a nutshell, this is both efficient and eco-friendly solution. Can’t wait to see this implemented by all the airlines and on all airports around the world. There’s something to look forward to. 😉
