Analysts Ballpark Pre Pricetag at $150

Both Sprint and Palm have kept mum about how much the Pre will cost, but analysts at Credit Suisse have taken their best guess: $199 after subsidies, $150 if Sprint’s in a rush to move these phones, which they likely are. That would beat the iPhone’s price nicely, but there are still cheaper BlackBerrys out there for those looking for alternatives that can live without a touchscreen. Credit Suisse’s report also says 1.3 million Palm Pres will be sold this year, and 3 million in 2010. As a point of reference, the Android G1 just hit the 1 million mark after about 7 months, which is comparable to what’s being predicted. Considering Palm and Sprint’s current financial situations, having something moderately more successful than Android this year just isn’t going to cut it.
