MobileSync pulls Facebook profile pictures into WinMo contacts

If the iPhone can do it, Windows Mobile should have no problems. As the arguably most flexible mobile platform in the mass market, Windows Mobile has no problems synchronizing Facebook contact pictures to your Windows Mobile contacts. Just don’t go expecting any snazzy design elements or touch-optimized UI, this is Windows Mobile, after all.

Thanks to a new WinMo application called MobileSync, Windows Mobile users can now import their Facebook friends’ profile pictures into their Windows Mobile contacts list. Just as Photo Phone Book made Facebook imports easy on the iPhone, MobileSync takes the hassle out of attaching a contact-picture to each entry in your Windows Mobile address book.

Before importing profile pictures into your address book, MobileSync will ask that you match up your address book entries with your Facebook friends’ profile names. Again, the bare-bones UI is classic Windows Mobile, but it gets the job done (in a no-frills “get ‘er done” sort of way).

MobileSync’s developer promises future UI enhancements and features that should give the Facebook-synchronizing application a spiffier look and feel. Although, as long as Windows Mobile is involved, we’re not going to expect too much on the UI side of things.

Download MobileSync here. The MobileSync homepage is still under construction, so you’ll have to head to Facebook for more info. (Ignore the fact that the application used to be called BookSync)
