lleida.net

Spain-based LLeida.net offers certified SMS services. I spoke with Sisco Sapena Soler about their offering and he said that sometime users (companies?) need to know that their SMS is 100% delivered. In that sense their service is created to tackle that problem. You can know that a fax or snail mail is received, but for SMS there are no such guarantees. So LLeida.net is there to provide interested parties with such a service through web interface or using a dedicate mobile application.

To send a certified SMS, users simply follow procedure provided on the screen and the recipient gets the message allong with the “certified” text at the end. Later on, this SMS can be used in court if there’s such need.

I’m not sure LLeida.net’s offering is unique — after all any web-based SMS sending service should be able to do this — but they are the first company I’m aware of to pitch their offering this way. Will it fly? I’ve no clue, but you can certainly get more information from their website.

In the meantime, you can check LLeida.net’s press release after the jump.

PRESS RELEASE – Spain’s delinquent loan rate has risen to the highest level in more than a decade as consumers and businesses mired in recession struggle to pay off debt, the Bank of Spain said. The 3.8 percent rate in January is the highest since January 1997. The rate refers to non-performing loans that banks, savings, loan and credit unions have made to companies and individuals.

Debtors are declared in areas when they go three months without paying any interest or principal. Banking institutions are looking for new tactics and implementing new measures to step up bank debt recovery.

A “must-do” for institutions with debt collection problems is quickly getting rid of. By proactively reaching customers early, you can prevent larger problems later. And Certified SMS is becoming the definite communication channel, since it gives top speed delivery (just seconds) when compared to traditional mail, immediate contact with the debtor (on his mobile phone) and it is a cost effective solution (less than 1 euro).

Sisco Sapena, Lleida.net CEO, “Deliquency debt is steadily rising is Spain, and Banks, Collection call Centers, Consumptions loans need urgently to customized strategies to collect these debts and save time instead of chasing delinquent debtors because they do not answer phone calls or becoming difficult to track down. We are experiencing an exponential growth of calls from companies urging us to looking for new ways of get their message across and looking to implement Certified SMS. They claim that Certified SMS produces a higher response rate than traditional methods of contact, up to 38 per cent in some cases.”

Lleida.net informs that nowadays Certified SMS is being used in collection debts for:

  • Reliable communication for late or non payment.
  • For next incorporation to ASNEF debtor file.
  • To communicate that code access to web services have been blocked.
  • Bank cards for debtor balance, etc.
