Swisscom, to follow up on their HSPA 14.4Mbps service (launched at the beginning of the year) has announced they will be working on an HSPA+ upgrade. Their aim is to have the upgrade complete in time for the ITU Telecom World 2009, which is taking place in Geneva from October 5th to 9th. Following ITU, Swisscom plans to expand this upgrade to many more areas for better coverage.
When completed, the network should (in theory) be able to handle a peak data rate transfer of 28.8Mbps.
