AT&T’s LG Optimus G gets a small update, not Jelly Bean we crave for *UPDATE: Jelly Bean is here, too*

AT&T and LG are pushing a small update for the LG Optimus G and no – it doesn’t include the so much needed Jelly Bean goodies. Instead, this is just a maintenance release that will fix some of the known bugs, add few tweaks here and there, while leaving your device running Android 4.0.4. The new software version is E97011c and honestly we’re not sure whether it’s worth “pushing the button” — except for the fact that it’s a good practice to have your firmware up to date at all Read more

AT&T to exclusively offer HTC One 64GB in the US

Not only was it the first iPhone carrier in the world, but it will also be the only operator to offer the 64GB version of HTC One. And since HTC’s flagship lacks a microSD card slot, that’s fairly important, giving AT&T an advantage over T-Mobile and Sprint, which will get to carry 32GB models. Then again, for most users 32 gigs is more than enough, since many of us rely on cloud-based storage services these days. It’s tempting, nevertheless — knowing that there is a 64GB HTC One out there Read more

New AT&T Survey Shows Commuters Are Texting And Driving More Than Teenagers

I don’t think we need to go over the dangers of texting and driving again. Well, maybe we do. According to a new survey from AT&T, texting and driving numbers haven’t gotten any better, especially with commuters. Even though 98% of commuters in the survey said they know texting and driving is dangerous, 49% still admit to doing it. Six in ten commuters claimed that they had never text and drove three years ago, but now the numbers are surpassing the amount of teenagers (49% vs 43%). Despite all of Read more

AT&T’s LG Thrill 4G gets Ice Cream Sandwich update

And we thought AT&T has completely abandoned the LG Thrill 4G. It didn’t, or at least not completely as Thrill 4G owners can now update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Not exactly the latest version of Android, but better something than nothing. And unfortunately, we’re not sure whether there will ever be Jelly Bean firmware ready for LG’s phone. You can always experiment with third-party ROMs, though. Anyway, if you have the Thrill 4G, you’ll have to download LG’s Mobile Support Tool to perform the update. It’s not an Read more
