T-Mobile to sell the iPhone 5 starting April 12 with a $99 down payment

Earlier this year, T-Mobile CEO John Legere said T-Mobile was ready to carry the iPhone and now the carrier has confirmed its plans for Apple’s popular smartphone. As announced during its Un-carrier press event, T-Mobile will sell the iPhone 5 starting April  12. T-Mobile promises something better in its first Un-carrier commercial

T-Mobile kicked off its Un-carrier event with a short commercial advertising its new no-contract approach to wireless plans. The short clip has a western theme and reiterates the idea that T-Mobile is no longer one of the big, bad carriers trying to control the people. T-Mobile LTE Service Functioning in 8 Cities

T-Mobile’s LTE service has been detected in 8 new locations today, according to PCMag. OpenSignal, a crowd sourced Android app, has reported that LTE is now functioning in Denver, Las Vegas, Kansas City, New York, New Orleans, San Diego, San Jose and Seattle. T-Mobile has declared it would roll out LTE service, but without details as to where and when. T-Mobile and MetroPCS get full regulatory approval to merge

T-Mobile and MetroPCS now have the green light to go ahead with the merger that’ll bring the regional carrier under the ownership of the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary. According to a press release from T-Mobile, the two carriers have  received all regulatory approvals necessary for the merger. The latest thumbs up came from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States which told Deutsche Telekom that “there are no unresolved national security concerns” with the transaction. T-Mobile Galaxy Note II receiving OTA update to enable LTE

T-Mobile Galaxy Note II users will soon be receiving an over the air update that will enable LTE support for the popular phablet device. With T-Mobile set to launch its LTE network at the end of March, it would only be fitting to prep devices for some LTE goodness. T-Mobile prepares to launch its LTE network at the end of March

T-Mobile is the only major carrier in the US that doesn’t offer LTE service. That will soon change as the carrier prepares to fire up its LTE network at the end of the month. Engadget, The Verge, CNET, and Laptop Magazine were able to test out T-Mobile’s nascent (and currently unused) LTE network and recorded speeds that averaged around 50Mbps on the downlink and 20Mbps on the uplink. FCC Approves MetroPCS T-Mobile Merger

The FCC has ruled that the proposed merger between MetroPCS and T-Mobile is a go today, ending months of speculation and negotiation. The merger represents a great opportunity for T-Mobile, as it gives the company a chance to expand its LTE services. T-Mobile to start selling the BlackBerry Z10 to business customers on March 11

The flagship BlackBerry Z10 handset may start going on sale as early as March 11th. According to a report by Reuters, T-Mobile is planning to sell the Z10 to its business customers starting this Monday.
