ZTE unveiled the second generation of the Intel CPU-powered Grand X In smartphone. The new device, simply called ZTE Grand X2, comes with Intel’s 2GHz dual-core Atom Processor Z2580 with hyper-threading capability. In addition, there’s also an 8-megapixel camera on board with “one of the shortest shot-to-shot times on the market,” real-time 2x axis stabilization, and face and smart scene recognition. Telefonica Confirms Firefox OS Device Release In Q3 2013
Firefox OS device launch plans have been confirmed today by Telefonica, which will be bringing Alcatel and ZTE devices to Spain, Colombia and Venezuela in Q3 2013. Firefox OS handsets manufactured by LG, Huawei and Sony will be launched in Q4 2013. Carriers that have pledged support for the nascent smartphone OS are Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile), Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telefonica, America Movil, KDDI, Telecom Italia, Telenor, China Unicom, 3 Group, KT, MegaFon, Qtel, SingTel, TMN and VimpelCom. Two new ZTE Android smartphones have been released in Hong Kong — ZTE Blade C and ZTE Blade III Pro — both of which target lower-end of the market. ZTE ships its 500 millionth mobile device
ZTE is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its mobile terminals division with the production of the company’s 500 millionth handset, making it the first Chinese mobile device brand to achieve the milestone. ZTE, Huawei increase smartphone shipments
Two of the leading Chinese handset makers, ZTE and Huawei, have both increased their smartphone shipments last year.
