Nokia e72 expansys Brief: eXpansys have new Nokia E72 in stock! You might have seen Stefan’s post recently, mentioning that the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E72 is finally in stores (and long while after it was announced, judging by the dates given) – well, eXpansys have just pinged me an email to let me know that they have the Nokia E72 in stock – at a pretty reasonable £349.99!

Rather than repeat the specs for the device, I’ll note what eXpansys say is in the box:

- Nokia E72
- Battery BP-4L
- Stereo Headset WH-601
- Data cable CA-101
- 4GB Memory Card (MU-41)
- Carry Case & Strap
- Clean Cloth
- Mains charger (AC-8)
- User guide

That’s a decent size memory card, and it’s nice to see the inclusion of a cleaning cloth – most devices these days are grease and dust magnets, so something to clean them off with is always appreciated!

If you want to grab the E72 for yourself, you can reach eXpansys by clicking here.

TrailBlazer Sim Memory Reader Pro is a bargain at MobileFun!

mobilefun sim memory reader pro 1 TrailBlazer Sim Memory Reader Pro is a bargain at MobileFun!These days, phones have evolved quite a bit – some of them even think they are multimedia computers ;-)

However, there’s still a need for decent backup solutions – certain devices have quite elegant ones (the iPhone and iTunes come to mind), whereas are slightly more, shall we say, functional. So when I came across the “TrailBlazer Sim Memory Reader Pro” from MobileFun, I was pleasantly surprised. It seems to blend the most effective way to get data between a mobile device and a computer (sideloading), with some decent connectivity and software to help you manage file movement:

The TrailBlazer Sim Memory Reader Pro is a must-have accessory for transferring or backing-up your mobile phone’s files and sim contacts. The sim card editor is simple to install and really easy to use. You can back up both contacts and text messages with a simple click of a button. It allows you to tidy up your phone book easily using your computer keyboard, so you can edit names and numbers in seconds rather than fiddling with your phone’s keypad.
Lightweight and compact enough to be kept in your pocket the TrailBlazer Sim Memory Reader Pro supports all of the popular storage cards available today, including SDHC, SD, M2, MicroSD and MicroSDHC. As it’s USB, the TrailBlazer makes it really quick and easy to transfer photos and music files between your PC and other devices like phones and cameras.
What makes the TrailBlazer extra special compared to all other memory card readers is that it reads both memory cards and your sim card! So with the free software provided, you can use the TrailBlazer to read, store, transfer and edit your contacts and files instantly!

Card compatibility

  • SD
  • SDHC
  • SD Ultra
  • Mini SD/SDHC
  • Micro SD/SDHC (Transflash)
  • RSMMC
  • DV-RSMMC
  • MMC Mobile
  • MMC/II/Plus
  • MS/PRO/DUO/PRO DUO
  • M2 Micro
  • Sim Cards (2G/3G)

This thing can read pretty much any memory card, and because it takes the SIM too, provide pretty much a total backup solution. Anyway, for an absolute bargain at £9.99, I’d say really you can’t go far wrong!

Beewi Accessories arrive in UK through Avenir Telecom

By Ben Robinson on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 at 5:06 PM PST
In Accessories, UK Retail

Avenir Telecom has announced it will exclusively be rolling out distribution of innovative mobile accessories from French company Beewi.
The accessories consist of high-end audio and connectivity accessories, such as what is possibly the slimmest and lightest hands- free car-kit in the world (’credit card’-sized, it sticks on to your windscreen or dashboard), a BluetoothTM streamer for iPods and iPhones (which wirelessly streams music to one or more pairs of headphones), stylish headphones for enjoying you phone’s MP3 collection on the move, possibly the smallest USB WiFi adapter in the world, and a USB adapter which adds BluetoothTM connectivity to laptops and computers without the need for a breakable, protruding dongle.
Avenir Telecom’s Managing Director Andy Tow comments “Avenir’s new accessories division is exemplified by this exclusive Beewi range. It offers the buyer – whether they’re at customer, retailer or dealer level – confidence, clear features and benefits and technical excellence. The accessories market has been populated with an array of incompatible and inconsistent products and ranges for far too long. Avenir will bring the best products to the UK, market them in a clear and compelling way, and help drive this exciting area of mobile communications forward into the future. We aim to do for mobile hardware what the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone apps store has done for mobile software!”
I certainly think the range of accessories is pretty reasonable, and I’m particularly liking the A2DP streaming module – now I just need a set of Bluetooth earphones to tune in!

The HTC is ANOTHER new Android device that has just come to market (seems to be an Android onslaught at the moment, what with the likes of the Motorola (NYSE: MOT) DEXT and Samsung i7500 too). It’s a mid-ranger in my view, with specs that aren’t quite as impressive as the Hero – but one thing it does do is wrap up all that Android niceness in a ‘cute’ hardware ID – yes, I said cute!

Anyhow, eXpansys have been in contact to let me know they are doing the device for £294.99, with a £20 eXpansys voucher included – to spend on whatever else you heart might desire in their store:

The HTC Tattoo is an Android-based phone that brings broad personalisation to the masses. With its distinct design and ability to personalise all aspects of the phone, from its hardware to its applications and content, people are able to express themselves and create their own individual mobile experience. Key features include:

- Operating System: Android
- Display: 2.8-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen
- Network: HSDPA/WCDMA, Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- GPS: Integrated GPS antenna
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g), Bluetooth 2.0

I’ve got one for review, which I’ll be posting on soon, but in the meanwhile, if you want one, you should go to the eXpansys site here.

Well we all know that O2 (NYSE: TEF) has lost its exclusive in the UK for the iPhone 3GS – now, most of the other Operators are getting in on the act. However, it would transpire the same fate has occurred for the Carphone Warehouse, according to Pocket-lint.com.
Now it is going to be that both Phones4U (another popular high street retailer of mobile devices) and also HMV (ostensibly a music shop) are also going to be carrying the iPhone. Specifically, Phones4U will sell the iPhone on O2 and Orange, and HMV will carry the iPhone on an in-store deal with Orange, in selected stores.
Currently the thinking is that Orange will start selling the iPhone in mid-November, and Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) (the other confirmed carrier) will begin at some point in 2010.

powermobile PowerMobile Advanced Emergency Charger is packing 2x 2000mAH batteries!

Saw this one today from MobileFun – a charger packing some serious grunt!

Quoted as “the ultimate emergency charger for portable electronic devices”, the PowerMobile Advanced is not an ordinary charger. It is powered by 2 powerful 2000mAH AA Batteries and can be used as:
A Universal Device Charger that uses multiple tips to charge multiple mobile devices
An AA Battery Recharger using any USB power supply to recharge any rechargeable AA batteries
A USB Device Charger so any device with a USB cable worldwide can be recharged eg. Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone 3GS

It comes complete with:

  • 2 Powerful 2000mAH Rechargeable AA Batteries
  • 7 Connector Tips – making it compatible with most mobile devices
  • Fold Out USB Male Connector so you can connect to any USB power supply to recharge your batteries
  • USB Female Port so you can connect to the USB charging cable of any electrical device

I bet you are wondering which devices the tips fit, right?

  • Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 2mm Connector
  • Samsung D800/D900 Series
  • Samsung G600/U900 Series
  • Micro USB (Nokia/Motorola (NYSE: MOT))
  • Mini USB (Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM)/HTC/Motorola etc)
  • LG Series
  • Sony-Ericsson Fast Port Series

There’s a few (!) devices it won’t support – the iPhone numbering among them – but I think for £14.95 it’s a reasonable shout! You can get one here.
