Just because Sprint’s profits and subscriber base are dwindling like so much water down a toilet-drain doesn’t mean the No. 3 US carrier is going to stop trying to attract customers with new handsets. We’ve heard on the grapevine that Sprint is prepping to launch their next CDMA/GSM World Phone in the Samsung Ace.This Windows Mobile 6 Standard-powered jobby will happily surf CDMA and GSM networks worldwide, making it a true global player. The Samsung Ace rocks a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.0, and EVDO on the CDMA-side of things. Unfortunately, jet-setters will be relying on the Rev. 0 flavor of EVDO, while GSM-surfers will have to deal with a lowly GRPS data connection to get their wireless data-fix.
Look for Sprint to drop the Samsung Ace on February 17th, at a $449.99 price-point (most likely sans contract).
