The HTC Touch HD represents the epitome of smartphone technology as it stands today. With an amazingly expansive 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen display that packs in almost as many pixels as a subnotebook and integrated GPS, WiFi, and 3G radios, the HTC Touch HD pretty much takes the cake as the baddest smartphone on the mobile-block.
Wrapped in the TouchFLO 3D UI that has been so popular on the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro, the HTC Touch HD makes the best use of Windows Mobile 6.1. The generous display makes the HTC Touch HD one serious multimedia monster capable of sucking down streaming video at 3G (HSDPA) or WiFi data speeds, while the GPS receiver keeps you pin-pointed in Google Maps.
Better still, the HTC Touch HD sports a 5 megapixel camera and expandable microSD card slot for almost unlimited storage capacity.
Unfortunately for us Yanks, the HTC Touch HD will be launched pretty much everywhere but within US borders. The HTC Touch HD is now available in the UK and Europe, and has just been launched in the Asia market. The HD will be touring the Asian continent through Malaysia and Singapore, commanding $930 and $950 price tags, respectively. Singaporeans will apparently be spending that extra 20-spot for an 8GB microSD card bundled with the HTC Touch HD’s retail packaging.
What do we have to do to get the HTC Touch HD in the US? We have our intern ready and standing-by to sacrifice himself so that the HTC-gods might see fit to bless us with a North American spec HTC Touch HD (with support for North American 3G frequencies).
