The popular movie finder and showtimes app ‘Flixster’ is now available in the Android Market, and is a must have for anyone that checks out a lot of movies. I tried out the app a bit on my iPhone awhile ago (the app has over 4.6 installs via the App Store) and it was pretty darn good. Did the trick for me, anyway.

The Android version of Flixster currently features:

  • Showtimes & info for the top box office movies & DVDs
  • High quality trailers (fullscreen option)
  • Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes
  • Links to theatre maps and phone numbers
  • Cupcake support

…and after chatting with a rep from Flixster, some additional features that are set to hit the Android version of Flixster in the foreseeable future:

  • Movie ticket purchasing from the app
  • Save theaters as favorites
  • Search full catalog of 50K movies on DVD
  • Links to IMDB and other movie websites
  • Create a movies want to see list
  • Login to rate and review movies and see your friends ratings

More screenshots of Flixster running on Android are below. If it looks like a winner to you, be sure to pop open the Android Market to install. It’s worth a look.

Thanks Peter!
