A new contender in the watch phone market is the Canadian company Neutrano. Actually, their first prototypes were first seen during the 2009 CTIA and it seems the final product, called Nutec WristFone, is getting ready to be officially launched. It has been approved the FCC, meaning the last paperwork hurdle is cleared, and now it’s all about the timing, distribution and other factors involved in every handset launch.
As a non-fan of watch phones, I’ll certainly pass my chance to grab the WristFone, even though it looks like a nice device. No 3G is involved here — it’s a dual-band (850/1900 MHz) device with Bluetooth connectivity.
If you dig watch phones but don’t like Samsung’s (S9110) and/or LG’s offering (GD910) too compelling (or too affordable), you may want to check out Neutrano’s baby. Make sure to grab some Bluetooth headset so you don’t have to talk to your hand – such a big watch is weird enough by itself. 😉
