The Motorola Devour is getting an over-the-air software upgrade but don’t get too excited because you’re not getting Android 2.0 or 2.1.
Instead, the update will improve the response time of the home, back and menu keys, as well as boost the overall stability of the browser and V Cast services. There’s also supposed to be enhanced call quality (I found it to be fine when I had it), audio improvements, and the calendar and e-mail have been tweaked to offer more usability.
I liked the Devour for what it was: a solid mid-range device for those who like MotoBlur. I still think it desperately needs at least Android 2.0 though because I cannot even consider a handset that can’t do multiple Gmail accounts. Check your phone over the next few days and you should get the upgrade indicator. Any Devour users out there in IntoMobile land? How’s the smartphone treating you?
Check out our unboxing video for all the Moto-citement (I just coined that and don’t think it will catch on).
