Well, it looks like the HTC Legend will soon make its way to the U.S. market as the device has just cleared the Federal Communications Commission and its radios indicate it will be hitting AT&T.
The handset is the followup to the HTC Hero and it has an aluminum unibody construction. Instead of a trackball, there’s an optical trackpad and it also has a 600 Mhz processor. There’s a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 pixel screen and all the high-end features you expect including WiFi, 3G, 5-megapixel camera and GPS. The device will rock Android 2.1 and include the latest version of Sense, including the “Leap” multi-gesture control mechanism.
If this does hit AT&T, it would instantly become the carrier’s flagship Android handset because the second-largest U.S. mobile operator only has mediocre handsets like the Motorola Backflip. AT&T’s Android lineup is supposed to be getting much better though, as we are looking forward to some killer hardware from Dell using Google’s mobile operating system.
Check out the video below for a brief hands-on introduction of the Legend’s hardware and software, although some of that may change for an AT&T version.
