Motorola Devour Android phone from Verizon is now free

We know none of you were saving up for a Motorola Devour, but in the case you were, don’t bother! Verizon is now offering their MotoBlur-toting Android device for free on a new two-year contract.

While a bit chunky, I love how solid the Devour is. The keyboard is pretty nice and locks in with one of the most reassuring clicks found on a smartphone today. That said, Verizon may be giving these things away to deplete their inventory and I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if the Devour met its end of life very soon.

The Devour, along with the LG Ally, just aren’t cool enough to be dubbed a “Droid,” even if both devices are running Android. Nonetheless, if you’re not in the market for the fastest device out there and can bear MotoBlur’s annoying interface, the Devour may be just for you.

There’s not really a catch to this deal, other than the offer is limited to online only but if you’re reading this, hitting the link below probably won’t be too hard either. We just heard recent that the Devour will not receive any other Android updates, so as long as you’re OK being stuck on Android 1.6, (and in no way should you be) go ahead and grab the thing.

Motorola really screwed the pooch on this one, I’d say. Even if the thing is for free, I’d still believe that Verizon may have trouble getting rid of these things. The only thing that made the Devour somewhat worthwhile is that Megan Fox held one before all of us. Now that that’s worn off, we’re not terribly excited for this one.

So whether you are upgrading to your first smartphone, and you want it to have a keyboard and pay nothing for it, or if you just have a deep-seeded hatred towards yourself, hit up the link below to get your very own Motorola Devour!
