Good news for our readers from Australia looking for some tough Android love. Telstra will launch the Motorola Defy on November 30th, offering it for AU$49 on a two-year contract. Alternatively, those of you (us) who don’t like that type of written commitments can grab the device for AU$600 outright, which is kinda steep in my book.
The carrier will have exclusivity on the Android 2.1 smartphone for 6 ix months, until May 30, 2011 when I’m sure other Australian operators will jump on board as well.
As you may recall, the Defy comes with a large Gorilla Glass-protected WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus, HSPA and WiFi connectivity, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and a microSD memory card slot. Thanks to Moto’s MOTOBLUR UI, users can quickly keep up with their buddies and followers across social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
