Playboy girl Kelly Brook is the LG Optimus One ambassador in the UK

Although it has already managed to move 1 million Optimus One units, LG doesn’t want to stop there. Hence the Korean company is teaming up with the model, actress and Playboy girl Kelly Brook to help them promote the popular mid-range Android smartphone.

According to Marketing Magazine, LG believes that the device fits with Brook’s “glamorous image.” I’m not sure I would associate the Optimus One with such a beauty, but what do I know.

If I had to choose, I’m all for Nokia’s approach, hiring Larissa Riquelme to promote the C3 model. Sure, it’s kinda more obscene but it gets the people talking and that counts in the PR world.

Anyway, we’ll see whether this latest move help LG move even more smartphones in the UK. Personally, I believe they have a winning product and that even without this campaign they would sell a bunch.

As a reminder, the LG Optimus One rocks Android 2.2 Froyo, 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, GPS, WiFi, 3-megapixel camera, 600MHz CPU and a microSD memory card slot.
