Bodymedia uses Sprint 3G to help you get fitIf you’re like me, the holidays weren’t kind to your figure and you may be looking for a way to get into shape. I’d say get back into shape, but who are you fooling. Well, BodyMedia Fit may just be the device you’re looking for and it’s teaming with Sprint to help you get in shape.

The BodyMedia Fit is a sensor which you would attach to your arm and it captures a lot of data about your body. This includes how many steps you’ve taken, how hot your body gets and how many calories you’ve burned.

The BodyMedit Fit data is teaming with Sprint to beam this data over its 3G network to an online database that you can access to track and plan your fitness programs. The latest version also includes Bluetooth to beam the data directly to your iPhone or Android app so you can keep track of all that fitness goodness.

Unfortunately, BodyMedia Fit is quite expensive: about $249 for the Bluetooth-equipped hardware and it looks like you have to sign up for a monthly subscription plan for the data management services.

Sprint is expected to make a big push with this under its ID initiatives.
