A new study from J.D. Power & Associates has named Verizon the top carrier in the West region.
The report was pretty darn comprehensive, as it measured dropped calls, failed connections, text and voicemail notifications, static and other factors. Verizon was the tops in the West with five stars, followed by Sprint Nextel with four stars and AT&T and T-Mobile were at the bottom with two stars.
“People are increasingly relying on their smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices to stay connected,” said Verizon Wireless Southern California Regional President, Luis Cruz, in a prepared statement. “Wireless users need a network they can rely on and our customers know they can count on Verizon Wireless. Our ongoing investments in California and throughout the U.S. have kept us ahead of wireless demand and enabled our customers to get the coverage they want and need on the nation’s most reliable wireless network.”
I’m a bit biased because I live in the West but Verizon wasn’t always the only one doing well. Much-maligned AT&T was tied for the top spot in the Mid Atlantic region, while Sprint and T-Mobile were on the bottom.
Verizon was at the top, by far, in the Northeast region too. All three other carriers were tied for last.
It was a pretty strong showing for Big Red overall, so I guess it can continue to market the strength of its network.
