Samsung Factor lands at Boost Mobile; The entry-level clamshell could be yours for 50 bucks

Boost Mobile has a new “everything but exciting” device in its portfolio – Samsung Factor. The carrier’s pitch is to address the needs of value buyers, who may not have the money or don’t want to pay a premium to grab a smartphone.

The entry-level clamshell costs $49.99 (excluding taxes) and comes with a VGA camera, Bluetooth connectivity support, email and IM clients, web browser, voice mail and caller ID.

For those buying the Factor, Boost suggests Monthly Unlimited with Shrinkage plan, where the longer you stay, the less you pay simply by making on-time payments. For instance, for every six on-time payments, your bill will shrink by $5, eventually getting down to as low as $35 a month for unlimited nationwide talk, text, Web, e-mail, IM and calls to 411.

In terms of availability, the Samsung Factor is rolling out at Boost Mobile exclusive retail stores and select independent wireless dealer locations across the country as we speak. Alternatively, users can grab it from the carrier’s website with free shipping.
