Podotree thinks it can bank on the Tamagotchi fame to make some cash from the iPhone and iPod Touch users. Their app, called Cube Dog, doesn’t have anything official to do with the famous handheld digital pet, but there are some similarities, nevertheless.
Available as a free download, Cube Dog is touted as the first “fully interactive 3D toy for iOS,” which takes full advantage of the hardware capabilities of Apple devices. Users are able to customize and create their own digital pet based on dozens of 3D character customizations, animations and interactions.
In total, there are more than 1.3 million customization possibilities from over 90 nose/mouth, eyes, ears, body and head options. Moreover, Cube Dogs can play fetch, call your cell, be placed in real-world pictures in any environment, and be shared via Facebook and Twitter. User can also tap, pinch, swipe and zoom to view and interact with their Cube Dog from any desired angle…
I never understood the Tamagotchi craze; therefore I may not be the right person to praise Cube Dog. However, I’m sure there’s a market for an app like that. What do you say?
